What are OM Particles?

In the cosmology I am developing, I use the term “OM Particle” quite loosely. Atoms are OM Particles, cells are OM Particles, humans are OM Particles, stars and planets and galaxies and even galaxy clusters, are considered OM Particles. Anything with a specific boundary condition or observable domain of existence, is considered an OM Particle. The Universe itself is an OM Particle. The Universe is The (ultimate) OM Particle.

The term “OM Particle” itself emerged from my interest in Buddhism and the Buddhist traditions. In Buddhist and Hindu traditions, OM represents the primordial vibration that caused the entirety of the Universe to cOMe into being. All Organized Matter emerged from this Original Mantra, a simple vibration creating Original Motion (waves) in Original Medium (Ether).

The speaker of OM is often depicted as an all-encompassing mystical entity or compassionate consciousness being (Buddha). Below is an image I created using the famous Buddhabrot rendering invented by Melinda Green. Although I did not invent this rendering technique, I spent a lot of time studying it in great detail. I also am the one that coined the term Buddhabrot which is a huge honour.

The striking similarity between Buddhabrot and a seated Buddha figure was a huge source of inspiration and motivation for me. When I first saw it, I nearly fell out of my chair. I was stunned. Buddhabrot is stunning both from an artistic perspective and an intellectual perspective. My cosmology was a direct result of what I learned while studying the Mandelbrot Set, the Julia Sets and Buddhabrot, all of which are emergent properties of the famous fractal formula Z := Z2 + C (Zen := Zen2 + Karma).

The “OM Particle” terminology itself is a play on the the concept of wave-particle duality, only instead of being a “duality” it is a UNITY. The OM Particle theory is a unification of the concepts of wave and particle. This theory, however, requires the existence of A Universal Medium (AUM) otherwise know as the medium for the propagation of light, otherwise known as Ether. Can there be an Ether? That is the question I am trying to answer. It is my opinion that, WITH THE RIGHT MODEL, there CAN be an Ether.

Here is a short excerpt (sneak peek) on my theory of light and matter. In The OM Particle theory, light is modelled as TRAVELLING waves in a medium (Ether) and atoms are modelled as STANDING waves in the same medium (Ether). The particle-like nature of both light and atoms only manifests when the Ether itself is set into motion. Think surfing. A surfer can only surf water waves that are crashing onto the shore. Crashing water waves set the medium (water) into motion, and when the water is in motion, the surfer can surf. When water molecules are in motion, work can be done. In a similar manner, when light waves crash into the shore of a detector (a camera for example), the medium (Ether) is set into motion and this is what we perceive as “the photon”. Only a crashing wave can do work. Only crashing waves can alter the pixels in the CCD of your camera and make a picture. On the other hand, the atom (atOM) is a standing wave in the medium (Ether). The particle-like nature of atOMs only manifests when the standing wave itself (the Ether vibration) is set into motion. Only Ether in motion can do work. In The OM Particle theory, Ether is the unifying principle between the concepts of wave and particle. Waves are travelling waves in the Ether. Matter is standing waves in the Ether. Only moving Ether can do work.

Last but not least, in The OM Particle cosmology, OM Particles have the property of self-similarity and self-similarity is the key to understanding the fractal paradigm. It is not so much about the fractal as it is about the property of self-similarity. Self-similarity is a SIGNATURE of a fractal. Fractal is an output, not an input. In chaos theory, fractals are emergent properties of iterative feedback systems. An OM Particle can only EMERGE in the context of an iterative feedback system. In The OM Particle cosmology, all of the familiar characters such as the photon (photOMs), the electron (electrOMs), the proton (protOMs), the atom (atOMs), the ion (iOMs), the cell, (cellOMs) the human (humOMs), and so on, are emergent properties of an ever emerging, ever evolving, ever changing Fractal Buddhaverse.
